Dear friends,

Greetings from AHON Foundation! =)

Thank you so much for your notes expressing your desire to volunteer for AHON Foundation! It is refreshing to know that many of you feel the same sense of mission as we do! We are very grateful.

Here are some ways that you can do "volunteer work" for us in the meantime.

1) Please promote to your friends, family, relatives, contacts, circles the ongoing AHON Foundation Book Registry project at Fully Booked branches. The project is now at the flagship store at Bonifacio High Street, Power Plant Mall-Rockwell, Makati, and Greenhills.

The mechanics for the book registry are quite simple:

a) BROWSE the tables or shelves designated for AHON Foundation. These tables/shelves contain pre-selected books that we hope to send to the public schools we are helping.

b) SELECT the books you want to donate (and select books for yourselves too!)

c) BRING the books to the cashiers and enjoy the appropriate discounts for your purchases.

d) FILL UP the DONOR INFORMATION strip that will be attached to your donations.

e) CLAIM your GET BLUED t-shirt for donations worth PhP1,500 on  a single receipt.

2) Feel free to make your project proposals for ways you can truly volunteer for AHON Foundation. Our objectives are quite simple and you may align your own project ideas with the following:

a) raise the awareness about AHON Foundation
b) raise the number of books (hopefully more brand new than used) we can bring to the public school libraries
c) raise the funds to buy more brand new books and enable us to send them to more  provincial public schools
d) work together with a local community or school district to help build and develop a public school's library.

Thus far, we have received some great proposals to help build our official website and to tap the corporate community to channel resources from them and bring them to the public schools.

For example,

If you are a STUDENT--feel free to explore ways we can tap your academic community to raise more books or more funds to buy more brand new books for public school children...

If you are a PROFESSIONAL, CORPORATE PERSON, or ENTERPRISE OWNER --feel free to suggest projects to tap resources from your respective groups, communities that may help us achieve our objectives.

3) Stay tuned for more news about our upcoming events and projects.

Thus far, we've got volunteers doing story-telling and other post-library build activities but are gearing up to do more and be more for our public school children.
